A neighbour who knows the hospitals

TemanCare was started in Seremban for a simple reason: watching people arrive at a hospital in an unfamiliar town, holding a referral letter they cannot read, with nobody to ask.

Seremban is a good place to be treated. Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar is the state's tertiary hospital, Columbia Asia and KPJ run well-regarded private hospitals here, Mawar has served renal patients for decades, and a new Sunway Medical Centre is being built beside Seremban Sentral. We are under an hour from KLIA, and living costs are a fraction of Kuala Lumpur's.

What Seremban did not have was someone to take care of everything around the treatment. That is all we do. We do not give medical advice and we do not take referral fees from any hospital — you pay us, so we answer to you.

Our name

"Teman" means the friend who goes with you — the same word in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia. That is the job. Not an agent, not a driver, not a nurse. A companion who knows the way, knows which counter, and will not leave you standing there.

What we do not do

• We do not give medical advice, diagnose anything, or provide treatment.
• We do not recommend a doctor or hospital because we were paid to — we take no money from any of them.
• We do not hold your money for hospital bills. You pay the hospital directly.
• We do not handle visa or immigration applications.
• We do not share anything about your health with anyone without your say-so.

Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Bahasa Indonesia. Tamil with notice. If your language is not on that list, ask anyway — Seremban is a mixed town and we know a lot of people.
